Yeah, so many fittings like this now have a load of nasty plastic parts that fail and let the fitting down, even if the rest of it is fairly solid. I'm sure this fitting would handle 50 years of a hot incandescent lamp just fine!

Bet this has a nice ceramic lamp holder in it too, no plastic crap that falls apart

Indeed yes, a nice ceramic lamp holder that could be easily rewired if necessary, unlike many lamp holders with modern lamps that are almost impossible to take apart without breaking them.

Not that it'll need rewiring or repairing as it was built properly in the first place...
