It's always great to fire up an old tube that's been dormant for years!

It did struggle at first but switchstart (even resistively ballasted) usually does the trick.

why is there a fire risk? i have mazda 2ft tubes somewhere ill did them out

Yeh mine got hot and I was worried about fire risk. But I was more worried about the asbestos resistive ballast to be honest lol

thorncollector, it's the fire element along the spine masquerading as a ballast. It would soon get that flaky cardboard smouldering.
