Converted halogen floor uplighter still kicking.
Back in 2016 I got a 300w halogen floor uplighter and converted it to 35w HID.
It gets used most evenings and almost all day during those dark winter days.
Certainly clocking up the hours and the GE 830 CMH gives off a very nice colour indeed.

I used a Philips electronic ballast but I had to replace the cable as the capacitance on the original was slightly too high for reliable starting every time.
I also had to change the lampholder after a year to a proper VS halide rated one as the spring contacts weakened in the original and you could hear the bad connection arcing during ignition or restrike.

35W CMH lamps aren't common in double ended R7s format.

Yeah, afaik only GE made them in that wattage?

I think I have seen a Venture one before, but mostly see 35W in G12 and G8.5 tbh. Is this still going now?

Didn’t you fancy doing a multi lamp version of this like Max’s on LG? Cool

Not really, I don't need that mad variety of CCT tbh!

With this lamp it's pretty much imitating it's original halogen format but a lot more efficient, and you can always swap it for a colour 942 if something cooler is needed!
