Cool Aussie lantern! bet these look nice in Halide! Do I spot a home made tester photocell here Smile

Yes, it's a chinky chonky one with the guts ripped out and just some 2.5mm soldered across the lives and neon on the neutral.

Like it. I used to make loads of tester cells for the street light crews years ago! Some of the lads actually still carry them! But they probay won't for much longer with everything going LED and Mini photocell

Cool at least this has a proper NEMA socket. I've often wondered why councils are obsessed with mini cells less reliable and harder to change? Why when NEMA is so good?

God knows I'd say nema cells are more eco friendly as it takes the guys longer to change the minis !

Wonder what the reason the Aussies put the cells upside down on these, (no pun intended)!

Lol rich, the Americans do too, those Rudd EOLEDWAYS have the knock outs for upside down cells! Don't they normally use the type with the little door?

I think it's due to the cells being hammered by UV from the sun.
