Thorn DSD 150S Mk10 "Darklight" PAR38 spotlight.
New-old-stock from the early 1970's. Proper retro fitting!

1 x atlas / Thorn surface spotlight fitting for PAR 38 lamps of up to 150w.
This is a very well built and chunky fitting with a very nice lacquered brushed aluminium finish.

The wiring in this is very nice and has a proper ceramic E27 socket so I might use this with PAR CMH lamps :)

I remember these from junior school!

My junior and senior school's had them Smile Both schools dated from the 60's but had lots of 70's and 80's gear in them. Classroom lighting of choice was 125w pop packs and these for lighting up wall displays! Smile

I think there was some of these in my school that once light up the wall displays. I don't ever remember them working though

I do like the old spots from the 60s ans 70s, I have a nice chrome example myself that is in use in my shed on a dimmer for if I want to sit in there to relax (I hardly ever do, its almost always to work!).

this is cool as, love this sort of lighting, has this got the black ribbed anti glare baffle inside the cylinder?

A few years ago I would never of looked twice at this kind of lighting however now I'm growing older I'm really starting to appreciate retro tungsten!

Lumpy, yes it does. Quite a nicely designed fitting.
