They used to use these in central Bedfordshire like Dunstable, but gone to these LED lanterns instead. The place I work at use these in 24w and 36w for parish councils. We did an replacement earlier this year in couple parishs between Milton Keynes and Northampton, few Beta 5 top entry were replaced and XGS103's, even some GEC 80w MBF postops

They had loads of these in Plymouth but the ripped them all out for led amperas litterly EVERYTHING no matter what it was went in the skip some lanterns were like brand new too! Iridiums electronic ballast SON all gone in the skip! Fucking criminal

These have a really good light spread for whats in them, their better seen on their own though, not mixed with SOX!
Kev   [21 Dec, 2015 at 12:20 AM]
I agree rich, they did a better job with a better spead of light than the led!

This looks like a pretty nice lantern. Smile

@Kev: .WoW. Shocked What a f**king waste. Typical government project...taxpayer money at waste.

Yep not far off the mark, even the 3 year old noded cosmo system all went in the skip! They could of at least donated it, sold it given it away to other councils that use it, BUT NO they skipped it. Boarder line criminal!

I Don't blame them for skipping node systems though. Could of just mini celled the fittings. Durham (my council) are skipping 7000 cosmos fitted between 2011 & 2013 mainly in the town centre and spennmoor areas At first they were just going to leave them but decided to rip them out as the node systems are failing. They use the Altra 3s for 55w PLL on new housing estates and they're skipping those too in favour of LED. I actually have saved a few of them as I like them

they not bad, the clips are shit on these though, difficult to open and close
Slyspark   [22 May, 2016 at 10:44 PM]
Got literally thousands of these in Surrey, they used these to light everything that wasn't an A or main road. So far they seem ok, however there is rumour that they'll start to re-lamp them with LED replacement tubes :s
Kev   [23 May, 2016 at 01:16 AM]
Why why why? I bet the led tube is LESS efficient than the LED replacement! Plague!
Slyspark   [23 May, 2016 at 02:59 AM]
I agree!
