i have 2 of these, plus a 3rd one that got damaged in the post (this one is doing the life tests)

These were the best 2’ fittings to ever be sold on modern ebay lol. I cant imagine they all sold as there was around 400 so i wonder what happened to the rest

yes, classic late 70's early 80's is it? used to love the hawker sidderly branding on the old crompton packets for tungstens etc, ive also got an ld 1970's garden bench, a commercial one like youd see in a park, its made by RA lister limited and it then says Hawker sidderly company lol, so hawker sidderly had dealings with making commercial teak park benches too !

I mainly know Hawker Siddeley for the aircraft that they manufactured such as the HS-121 Trident airliner, HS-125 buisiness jet, HS-748 turboprob airliner and the HS-146 later known as the BAe 146 4 engine VSTOL airliner. They also made the Hawk jet trainer and the P1127, the prototype to the Harrier jump-jet. They also made loads of missiles!

i knew about the aircraft connection, RA Lister which is stamped on an aluminium badge on the bench also made old engines for farm machinery and stationary engines

I’ve got a couple of Crompton induction motors (still made in the UK today iirc) from the same era with HS branding.

I started my working life at British Aerospace, Woodford on 18/08/80. That used to be Hawker Siddeley, among many other names. The 748 was the principal aircraft on the production line at that time, along with Nimrod maritime reconnaisance aircraft. I also remember the larger 780 Andover of the Queen's Flight. It's all long gone now.

Used to get loads of 748's at Liverpool. I can still hear those RR Darts whining away...
