Floodlight pits.
I noticed that on one side of Conwy Castle in north wales, all of the floods lighting up that side of the castle are mounted in these recessed pits in the ground so nothing can be seen of them above ground level. I wonder how they are kept drained?

Floods are 250w Philips eW Reach Powercore LED units.

Interesting way of installing ground level flood lights. Is that a small stream and bridge at the back? Can't really tell.

yep they are the pits
