Runway Edge Lights
At the airforce museum at the former RAF Gatow airbase in Berlin, they have loads of aircraft on display including surface-to-air missile defence systems, RADAR stations and also some of the air traffic control gear that would have been used.
They had a sort of mini mock up of some of the lighting hardware that would have been used on the main runways which have been partially dug up for a housing estate.
I have no idea what type these are but I'm sure Colin will know!

Looks like a old AEG Light, they used 2 lamps which were are Independly controlled to light only the direction of the landing aircraft, if the runway was then used in the other direction example wind change the lamp on the other side of the fitting would then be lit. here in the UK the RAF used a similar lighting configuration but were 2 x Direction fittings similar to approach lights for the same purpose see photo
