I travelled on a 158 to Norwich for work back in 1997, it was a very smooth ride, though there were a hell of a lot of station stops! Always loved the lighting on trains, right back to the old tungsten lighting, it always looked like they put a lot of thought into it.

lol I have a soft spot for the old 142 Pacers... especially when you go over a set of points and then the whole thing starts bouncing up and down and squealing like a stick pig
A shame we don’t see them anymore since the Liverpool to Manchester line was electrified and we got new ( quite old) electric trains cascaded from down south.
