Yeah SON are default church lighting all over the world now!
The outside of the church near my house used to be lit by SON but they replaced all of the fittings and put LED flood lights in that have all failed now. The whole lot of them were replaced and they failed a second time! They are Ansell and other random brands. The church will have spent more money on replacements than the SON cost to buy and new lamps in total I bet! I presume the church has given up on their lighting as they haven't worked for almost a year now.

Can’t beat SON on stonework

Can't beat SON on pretty much anything

Hawkshead Church is externally lit with SON floods however they are only used from mid December to mid January, the rest of the time the church is unlit. When it is lit it does look good as it stands high up over looking the whole village and can be seen clearly from across the valley.

a church near me is lit with 90 watt sox ground mounted flood lights ! i look after them when they fail, they love the sox look on the stonework, they are only lit in the winter and suffer damp problems on putting back into use again after months being off
