I believe liverpool are on a invest to save LED con programme so you might have to keep your eyes on these
Yeah there are still thousands of various sox lanterns going but are being replaced at a great rate of knots. Usually the oldest thing you see round here are Eleco GR’s and Revo Hyperions.

Yeah, theyll go even faster when they run dry on SOX lamps. I think liverpool and west yorkshire are some of the best places for sox. Jons area calderdale are on some PFI programme replacing all concrete columns and all lanterns . The concretes are very in keeping with the area and brickwork of the buildings around there. The streets theyve done just have standard 5/6m steel galv columns and it just does not look right

Probably better that doing what they were doing in Warrington, putting new LED lanterns on old concrete columns... looked horrendous! Think many LED lanterns will be still going after 65+ years?

yeah they do look wierd on concretes some of the lanterns. Specially the V-Max looks horrendous anywhere that one. No i severely doubt it, if the 3 year old hartlepool axias are anything to go by then youll be lucky getting 5 years. The powdercoat has all corroded off of them. I guarantee theyll need hammering off

how come it has a high level gear box when its on a tubeular steel column? no door compartment at the bottom? very unusual lantern by the way, new one on me
I think that’s the overhead supply cable you can see there feeding it.

Same as Glasgow where they had open wire overheads just for the columns!
