Unknown vintage railway lanterns.

When out for a walk near the Alstom rail technology centre in Widnes, I stopped to watch some trains being shunted in and out of the massive engine sheds there and noticed quite a lot of these old lanterns in the sidings.
No idea what they are but they look in good condition despite being out of service for probably a few decades...
Some had missing or part missing bowls.

I'm sure they're a Thorn fitting, some sort of flameproof thing, but I can't quite remember what exactly

Pity you can't just climb up to look. However, I don't advise trespassing on the railway and in definitely not sure I'd trust that pole or ladder!

It's not just on the railway but inside the compound of a major engineering works with CCTV, fences and everything lol
I could always ring them up and ask I suppose Laughing
