Philips CorePro LED HPL
I noticed that all of the lanterns in the grounds of Carlisle Cathedral had been fitted with these nice Philips LED filament retrofit lamps.
I think this is the first time that I have seen these being used out in the wild!

Their elongated length is a dead giveaway for these!

Certainly could have gone for something far worse!

I think the LEDvance ones are better for the simple reason that the dimensions are more aesthetically pleasing.

Yeah they look a lot more like an actual MBF lamp in that regard. I also think these lanterns may look quite nice with the amber version that LEDvance do, though I think that may only be available in a tubular envelope Confused

Would be nice if they made a coated elliptical version of their amber range!

Indeed a true SON-E replacement Smile I had a quick look but sadly couldn't see anything listed for an amber elliptical lamp.

One of their amber tubular clear lamps might end up in my patio Kingfisher Sloane when the 50w SON-E dies!

Would be interesting to see how it compares, and how long it lasts!
