What would the water do to it (any more than heavy rain or snow thawing on the luminaire does everywhere else ?)

Salt water which causes electrochemical corrosion, especially when you’ve got dissimilar metals.
These shitty Chinese LED floods are bad enough for turning into powder with normal rainwater...
