Thorn 1000w Kolorlux MBF/U: Full Power. Decided to give the new ballast box some work to do. I gave a Philips 1kW HPI-T a good run on it (Pictures in my gallery) and I thought I might as well fire up a big MBF lamp while I was at it. Ignitor is out of circuit for this. These big old mercury lamps are awesome!

Yes the big mercury lamps are great and need firing up from time to time! I could do with getting one of these clamp stands, they are perfect for this job.

I have another one with a set of metal rings of various sizes, presumably for holding beakers but they go nicely around the end of big halides to support them.
Quite hot too lol. You can see how warped my cutting board is from when I ran up that kW Philips HPI-T Rolling Eyes
