400w Venture MBF-R Mercury Reflector Lamp: Run-up sequence

1 x 400w Venture high-pressure mercury vapour reflector lamp.

Unlike some of the other MBF-R lamps in my collection, this one has a mirrored metallised as well as the phosphor layer.
This makes the lamp produced a stronger beam but directs very little light upwards.

The light emitted from this is quite poor to be honest. The open front design, common to all mercury reflector lamps, allows a lot of uncorrected mercury light to exit the lamp and cast a horrible blue-green cast to everything.
It is reasonably bright though.
