I've just done exactly that! Well, the 150w SON choke anyway Smile Switch-started no porblem!
That slight bit of blackening from when it was tested at the factory is gone now too Smile

how close to their rated amps / volts do these run on on the 150w SON Ballast? / how much of a close match is it?

200ma over spec. Shouldn't hurt it for short runs.
