Osram (UK) 400w Vialox SON-T / I
Self-starting 400w SON-T lamp.

I never saw the point in self-starting SON lamps, was the reduced cost of the simplified control gear worth the drawbacks of these lamps?

The bi-metals on these are really slow operating, but still no substitute for an ignitor.

Ignitors used to be so expensive, that it was a lower initial investment cost to use lamps having internal starters.
