Lol a job and a half getting that I'm your attic? lol
lampy   [09 Nov, 2015 at 07:59 PM]
yes, it wasnt easy, the timbers in my house are fortunatly strong and oversized compared to modern houses with matchstick timbers

Aha the infamous loft pole complete with Diadem Majors and original slanty angles!
Kev   [09 Nov, 2015 at 08:58 PM]
Love it!!!! Old open wire system fast becoming a thing of the past with modern Chinese ABC taking over! This pole does look bloody old the moder modern ones are a lot thicker (not necessarily better and even worse now the EU are banning creasote!)

Help support your roof too phil. Nice work! Always enjoy seeing your installs! Hope to see more

is that a crompton torpedo i see lurking just in the shot? (i think thats what they were called, sorry if im way off)
lampy   [09 Nov, 2015 at 09:18 PM]
yes, i beleive it is a crompton torpedo fitting in the background, posted full photos of it on here in the past. Kev, the open wires on the pole are for show, just could not bring myself to cut them off as they add to the overall effect of the whole thing

Great install, must have been a nightmare to get up there Smile
Kev   [09 Nov, 2015 at 10:50 PM]
Lol I guessed that Phil didn't think you would have a live open wire system in your loft no matter how tempting lol
lampy   [09 Nov, 2015 at 10:53 PM]
the insulations gone a bit non existant, its like rolled paper round the cable with a coloured cloth outer whats left of it, one of the pot insulators has a date of 1945 on it so think there could have been other lights on this before these
Kev   [09 Nov, 2015 at 11:08 PM]
So these lanterns and lights were all on this pole when you got it?
lampy   [09 Nov, 2015 at 11:30 PM]
Kev, check the next photo

Can't beat the colour from pearl merc lamps. One of my favourites. Great save.
AngryHorse   [25 Feb, 2017 at 01:18 PM]
Very authentic!, (I need a bigger loft)! Confused
Kev   [05 Mar, 2017 at 02:51 PM]
Phil did both the lanterns work straight away when you powered them?
