Sylvania 5.5w RefLED+ ES50 GU10 Version 2
Version 2 of Sylvania's RefLED ES50 series of LED GU10 halogen replacements.

A great deal of refining has been done to drive down manufacturing costs without sacrificing quality.

Due to the increased efficiency of the LED modules, the heatsink has been reduced in size and is now formed out of 1mm pressed aluminium instead of the die-cast alloy unit on the V1 lamps. This new process has reduced costs by a factor of five.

Special attention has also been taken with the new lens. The goal was to have the first halogen retrofit lamp where the entire front diameter lights up with no visible heatsink rim. This was to enable the lamp to resemble a halogen lamp with no mismatch in colour between the lamp and the fitting, especially recessed downlights. This works very well indeed and the lamp greatly resembles a halogen lamp.

The driver has not changed much and the LED modules are still mounted on a ceramic PCB like the V1 lamps.

Also worth noting is the fact that almost all of the components are now sourced in Europe rather than China (the LED modules are now sourced from Japan instead of China) and the end goal is to have zero Chinese components in Sylvania's products.
