Ballast IR test.
Decided instead of binning this 220v Chinky VS clone ballast, I might as well leave it outside in the weather for a while. Before I put it out I tested it at 1000v and got a big fat offscale reading of 9.99 GigaOhms.
Wonder how it will fair? It’s already been out for a week or two.

I love how they put ‘German technology’ on it, as if we’re all stupid and think it’s a quality ballast!

Yeah. Another favourite is “Assembled in such and such” which basically means it was all made in China and a few bits were bolted on in the said country.

What material is the slot insulation (wrapper around the coil straight section) in this one made of ?
