Halogen flood with ruby IR lamp.
As the prices of dedicated external halogen IR heaters are silly money I decided to get an old 1500w halogen flood and stick a 1300w ruby IR lamp in it for when I’m chilling outside on the patio on those evenings when it gets a bit chilly later on.
Works well and it’s nice and warm but I think this flood isn’t suited too well as it has quite a narrow beam. Still need to rig up a bracket also.

I have some of these on my decking in my new umbrella. Just keep them away from flammable material! Mad

This is a bit bright, are the gold lamps any better for glare or is it that im using the cheapest ruby halogen i could find?

The gold lamps are not cheap though, I had to get 3 for the mobile paint heaters/driers for our paint shop, the 2KW ones are circa £25 each!, they are slightly less bright though.

The proper Philips / Dr Fischer ones I'm sure were up £70 odd!
