Mine is open (taped together atm) as the glue has failed if you want a pic i can do that

very interesting my Mk2's have a sticker with 8309 on them which I imagine means either 9th week 1983 or 9th month 1983, and reading the 16W 2D lamp page on James website, it says the 2D lamp was introduced in 1983, so I wonder if the Mk1 and Mk2 where sold at the same time? one being consumer orientated the other being more commercially oriented?

I'm wondering why the MK2 has the notches on the side. Perhaps it was round to fit a shade or reflector onto it?

Is the colour temperature Warm White (2700K) of this 2D, seeing how it is aimed to replace an incandescent bulb in a domestic setting?
