It lights again! Remember my 80 watt Thorn merc I dropped out of the loft onto a tin of shoe polish?, well I couldn’t bring myself to throw it away, so kept it in a little box until this idea dawned on me, here it is running again, in a pickled onion jar!, ballasted by 3 Radium halogen lamps!

I think the glass should be stopping the UV. Can you smell the stink of Ozone when this is running?

Yeah slightly at the top of the jar.
