That's really rather poor!

Only half of every other LED fitting is lit for some reason. The fluorescent lights were twin but only one tube was lit in each fitting and they would switch between the two tubes regularly to even out the wear but that worked well as there was still one continuous line of light down the centre of the tunnel.

Does look very gloomy!

What’s the point in changing an already decent system? Why can’t people just leave things alone rob seeing as you use it you should formally complain! I would!

That looks a bit rubbish. I hope they don’t mess with the Queensway tunnel

One of the claims they have made is that the cabling that has been replaced was alluminium rather than copper and also that it ran at deck level behind the cladding and was susceptible to damage in the event of a crash which could short out and disable the lighting as they don't contain a battery backup. I was surprised at the aluminium cables for such an installation. There are also the usual claims for saving money and C02 emissions, though that is probably more to do with reduced light levels than more efficient lighting.
