EOL tube on 24 Dc Invertec fitting.
This is the 24vdc Invertec fitting that appeared in an earlier post. The question was asked as to how it would react with an eol tube. I've now found an eol tube. This is an eol Sylvania tube with one of the cathodes measuring open circuit on a meter. It still lights the tube at almost full brightness with no flicker. It does however seem to follow a different starting pattern. There is still a short delay of 1 second, but the startup then follows the pattern of a cold start with the end of the tube lighting up that purple colour.

Does it behave differently if you reverse the tube in the fitting?

Interesting question. Just tried it but it's exactly the same startup.

That's a good sign. The drive is symmetrical, not like the primitive single transistor drivers that would only work an EOL tube in one direction.

I did leave it a bit longer and it started to flicker, it was a bit like how an eol tube behaves on an SRS ciruit. I turned it off after a few minutes, didn't want to risk damaging it.
