Sylvania Standard F65/80W/135 5' Tubes
Got a box of 20 of these today. I'm led to believe these aren't the finest of quality but they were cheap enough and local so can't complain!

These are the older ones i think these will be better
Slyspark   [09 Mar, 2017 at 06:37 PM]
My experience is that the newer ones that say Havells-Sylvania (with the web address printed on them) are the crap ones.

These ones seemed reasonable but still have the tiny stick cathodes I believe.

I don't get why they ever thought that was a good idea. I mean, great plan- lets put everyone off these 'unreliable' 'old' fluorescent tubes by making them fail early, take ages to warm up, etc. All that's done is to put me off everything that company makes. A real win there guys.....

Good you can still get these in T12 Very Happy
Slyspark   [10 Mar, 2017 at 12:16 AM]
Well, only any residual stock as you can't make or import them into the EU any more.

These are unused, but were second hand

Looks like one on the extreme right has a duff pin......

Is this batch made with thin phosphor? I know the early 2000's SLI was and after a good few thousand hours you could see a lush blue glow coming from the cathodes Cool

@Slyspark, eagle eyed viewer you are lol! Yes unfortunately there is a couple-or-three tubes in this lot with some pin damage, the one you've seen there is the worst
fluorescent   [10 Mar, 2017 at 02:19 AM]
@Liam, not sure about the phosphor thickness. I'll let you know in a few years lol Laughing

Super glue! Cool
fluorescent   [10 Mar, 2017 at 12:45 PM]
yup super glue is key! or epoxy resin is good too
Super_t_Five   [23 Mar, 2017 at 02:32 AM]
Made 12/2003.

@Liam, I've just installed a couple of these and yes the phosphor at the end is very thin!

@Super_t_Five, many thanks & perhaps being older SLI's means these might last longer than 5 minutes?!
