Course it will lol. Cap id be dubious of though

If it's resin potted (which I suspect that will be) it'll most likely work fine. Worth cleaning all the paint & rust off and re-spraying it (with radiator enamel) following treatment with something like Kurust. Labels are quite easy to re-create and can be stuck into the top layer of paint. TOP TIP - before you strip it, stick a bit of wire in the live in terminal and take a picture that shows both it and the wiring diagram. That way you'll know which terminal is which later on! I'm doing a Thorn 2x 40w 2' ballast at the moment.

I'll test it asap & report back. Many thanks for the advice. After the last fiasco I had painting a ballast, I'll be running it for weeks if not months before I even think about painting it!

I'd megger it at the very least
it shall be meggered with my Fluke ir tester

Yeah I had pretty much forgotten I own this! Might dig it out tomorrow (today, technically) when I get home, standby....
Another year passes after saying I'm going to do something with this......... I dug this out the other day, it's in my pile of things to look at soon. It'll have dried out by now anyway
Did it ever work then?
I had forgotten about it again, will put it on my bench......
So, did you ever test this?
Haha, another year, another nope. I know where this is at least so could get it out one day
Next year maybe?
I'll set a reminder in my calendar: July 2021
Might pay to pop a note in the 2022 diary too....
