Latest Haul of Fluorescent Fittings The latest haul! A few 'Thorn' (old style big 'T') 5, 6 and 8 foot twins. Sadly these were in the process of being stripped out for scrap hence the cable is mostly gone, the ballasts removed and the covers have been bent in half! The ballasts were still there luckily all thrown in a big box which I saved too so I can rebuild them :-) Also got 3x 5ft 80w quickstart fixtures with BLI ballasts in them. Also 3x 8ft 85w fixtures with Transtar ballasts dated 1964 Also a few newer random stuff, a couple of switch start Tamlite 5 footers and a Crompton 8 foot 100w twin

It was an old supermarket, Kwik-Save then Netto I think they said.

The chap told me the entire supermarket floor used to be lit with 8ft 85w twins the same as three I saved here, apparently they were all still there above a false ceiling when he got the place fairly recently! The lot got stripped out and scrapped sadly Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

The three here that I saved were in what I think was a large store room, or staff quarters or such like

Everything else was dotted around in different rooms, old kitchens and toilets etc. The place was massive, I got lost looking around it!

Don't spose you saved any lampholders from the Thorn PP twins did you? Desperate for a pair of those for a fitting restoration!
