Simplex 70w SON Bulkhead

A recent acquisition, this rather nice Simplex 70w SON bulkhead. Three of the case screws were seized solid which I had to drill out, once I got it open I found it had a hammered 70w Crompton SON-T fitted dated 2001, I very much doubt it's been in use all that time though. Of course it works fine after fitting a new lamp.

Lovely bulkhead. Looks very similar to the Thorlux labelled bulkheads. very interesting ballast inside too.

Cheers Dave, I thought it was Thorlux at first also, at my previous work there was loads that looked like this but were Thorlux & 80w MBF/U. They had 2-part, rectangular ballasts in that were obviously designed to fit in fluorescent battens too. I was surprised to see this was what it is when I eventually got it open.
