How Not To Wire a Plug
Attached to an all-metal 1950/60's fluorescent gooseneck desk lamp, note the earth core, which is barely attached with just a couple of strands clinging on!

This is another example of why everything sold in this country now has to have a plug already attached from the factory.

I wonder how many of these are still out there?

Nice bit of wiring that! looks like an MK plug from the 1960s!

Yep it's an old MK. Picture now replaced so you can see the whole plug, when it eventually decides to update...

These plugs could stand a decent loading more than can be said for cheap plugs that where available back at that time!

Going off the new colours for a 1950/60 desk lamp, I don`t think this is the original flex, but still its not a good example as you say!!

Never trust other peoples plug wiring skills. Had a few used mains items like this myself over the years. The worse was on a vintage commodore disk drive. People never cut the conductors down to the right size for one.

the wiring may be crap, but the plug is excellent, these are the only plugs i like to use at home. bulletproof, with quality you just dont see in this modern age. The black versions are my favorite, i must have over 30 of these plugs lol
