13 watts in a filament lamp!! That seems too much. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts

I don’t know?, those Philips TrueForce Core 13W/830 E27 seem to last from what monkeyface was saying on LG, and their a similar set up to the Super Trend ones.

Yep, amazing what proper optics can do... which is my main issue with proper lanterns that just have the LED's stuck to the bottom and are right glare bombs!
|
|
|||
I get the best of both worlds here, LED in a lantern with optics AND the choice of CCT I can use in it thanks to a separate lamp , it’s a shame they didn’t leave all our (new), Arc80s in, and just converted them to LED lamps instead of a full new lantern!

|||
Was a crying waste of taxpayer money when you saw installations that were barely 6 months old being ripped out for LED. Surely some sort of retrofit would have been more cost effective...

The Arc80s that were put down our road during the SOX to SON change over were barely 2 years old when they removed them for Uni-Streets

I suppose it's not too bad when you see 40+ year old SOX installations being removed for LED but when you see really recent stuff that cost a fortune it really winds me up. I've even seen it where SOX on concrete columns are replaced by SON on new steel columns, then a year or so later they change those out for LED lanterns.... on all new steel columns! I mean what the fuck?

Looks fairly good that.

I’ve always thought 4000K was the perfect choice for outside lighting, but with these I tried recreating a GLS look, and was really pleased with the results, 2700K makes the grass and concrete look so much nicer at night!

Depends on the location tbh.

Interestingly all new installs in Vale Royal’s area now, (Winsford/Northwich), are all 3000K , and I have too say, they look superb at night, their coming in the form of Holophane V-Max and CRTs mk 2 SLX

I was always a big fan of Cosmo when there was a lot of hate going their way a few years ago.

Another ‘latest spec’ halide lamp that didn’t get time to mature in the market, we never had them here, the first ones I ever saw in nightly use were in Northampton and Cornwall!
