These were also common in schools to demonstrate series and parallel circuits etc

I remember these at school, then we moved onto bigger 12 volt lamps.
|

They used to get smashed often because people would screw them in too hard
|
|
|||
|
Also at my school people would over power them, probably why we went onto 12 volt lamps.
|
|
|||
|
The large lantern batteries my schools used were ancient and most of them didn't even have a good charge.
|
|
|||
|
We moved onto transformers, some went upto 12 volts but the older ones went upto 18 volts.
