How nasty and unprofessional! Nothing wrong with 6500k but the light from these things is crap regardless of colour temp. Will probably be flashing away in the next year or so.

Im disgusted

These seem to be the default choice for everything these days... suitable or not!

Looks like the light is the least of the worries in there - but indeed that is a truly shockingly poor setup. ... seriously, a bare bulb hanging from a ceiling rose would be better. Haven't seen one of those (Gent?) fire detectors in a few years.

It's OK, if the old Thorn pop packs were anything to go by, these floods will have rotted out within a year.

They used these thung to replace the 2x8W T5s on the car deck, and 16W 2D in the foot passenger area of the Windermere ferry so far some of the locations are on the third fitting in 4 years. The fluros had lasted since the ferry was new in March 1990. Again they're all 6500K and due to the repacements some are black and others silver.

Any of these still working?

Last time I was down there, they'd been removed as the roof was getting repaired. Although these are Chinese and they look like the usual crap, these aren't *that* bad. The casting is pretty good with an ample heatsink, it uses a good quality cob and has a reasonably reliable driver. I've got one on my house that runs dusk till dawn, we'll see how long it lasts.

Brackets would rot to fuck down here

You could have all not resurrected this post and i'd've been none the wiser! That's a nasty picture right there!
