I've had CFLs last longer than this and CFLs were never the best.

These are the ones Philips foolishly put their name on, now try a Diall on in their James

Oliver: true point haha. We had Philips CFL and never had any fail. Just go very dim

CFLs were usually a lot better at telling when they were about the fail. The amount of blackening would show roughly how much use there is. If they flickered on startup it could be to do with the starting capacitor. The LEDs tend to just go out like my Philips LED did. It just went off without warning. These LED filaments usually fail like yours has.

Done better then some I've seen recently then. I've had some of these fail after just days or weeks!

Mine which was a candle shape with satin finish failed after 9 months of more than 6hrs use!!!!

Depends what brands you get. DIALL & ASDA seem ok, but others dont. Life seems to vary on these things dramatically

Stay away from ALL filament led mounted on rings, (as above), as mentioned these are US made and not good!
