Aren’t these 2’ chokes identical to 18w sox gear?
So a 2ft ballast can run an 18w sox ok? didn't know that
The running specs are almost identical
Ideal.

Very ideal! Will have to see if I can get some 18w sox to play with. Just need an ignitor then
Yes, the ignitor is the main issue. Shame, as I've got tons of 18w ballasts I've ripped out in stock, as well as quite a lot of 18w SOX.

Rip all your LED piss out and go back to this set up!
Would an 18w sox strike on ballast voltage spike alone, i.e. short the lamp out momentarily?
I've heard of people using fluorescent starters wired across the lamp, but I believe it's a bit hit and miss at starting.....
Thought I heard that 18W SOX would run on 20W ballast with no ignitor, but as I have neither ballast nor lamp I can't prove or disprove it

My front light had a 35/70watt halide superimposed ignitor in it, that ran fine, and didn`t torch any lamps.
