YAG transparent CMH lamp for Research & Development. Special 70w lamp with an arc tube made from Yttrium Aluminium Garnet whose crystal grains are so tiny that they do not scatter the light so a transparent ceramic arc tube can be created. This lamp was used for measuring electrode temperatures at full power. This process is more than 50 times more expensive than normal ceramic lamps and they blacken rapidly. For obvious reasons they have not been commercialized.

They also seem to be lacking a halide dose, but I don`t suppose it needed a lot for a heat measurement?

It's not my handwriting! One of the technicians from the labs. The halide fill is same as a regular CMI but much less is needed with ellipsoidal than cylindrical bodies. It can just be seen in the left hand capillary.
