GE 400w Arcstream: United Kingdom vs Hungary
|
Two 400w GE Arcstream MBI-T quartz metal lamps.
It's interesting to compare the two generations of lamp made at different times in different countries.
The Hungarian lamp is a lot newer than the UK lamp made in the old Thorn plant.
Aside from the outer envelope shape, the arc tube is also a slightly different shape and the coating at each is also different.
It's smooth on the older lamp and lumpy on the newer version.
They have also boosted the CRI to 70 from 60 which is why the halide salts condensed inside look different.
I might have to see if I have enough gear to light them side by side.
