Thorn 250w Kolorarc MBIF/BU. First power up in 37 years. 
Nice NOS early 250w Thorn fluorescent coated metal halide lamp for base-up operation.
 At full power for the first time since it was manufactured back in 1979 and I unsealed it from it's box 37 years later.
 Like the other 400w lamp, it ran up with a large yellow light but after several minutes the colour temperature increased to a lovely crisp cool white with very good CRI indeed.

Just imagine a factory or warehouse lit with these in Thorn HiPak fittings.. :)

GE still make these too, at least they are listed on their website. I have a UK GE one somewhere.
