Very nice! Would love to get one of these old wide bodied T12 battens one day, they suit the tubes so well! Is this one switch start or SRS? Cool

Just take care clipping the lamp holders back onto their brackets. They tend to be easy to break.

Thomas - more of these available, member 'fluorescent' (Adam) has a few. I can get them as far as Surrey, but not practical to post these, so you'd have to work out collection thereafter...

Are these the same as the Crompack 3's? Thanks Rich, that would good, I should be able to get them from Surrey Smile

Yes, Philips and Crompton shared the design and production of fittings up to the Crompack / Streamlite 4

@Beta 5: This one is Switchstart Cool I too want to own an SRS/QuickStart fluorescent fixture

Slyspark: I have managed to get this Streamlite wired up and running successfully with the Philips 65W tube that is made in France Smile was extra gentle on the tubeholders Smile Smile

Yeah SRS/QS fittings are cool, it's interesting watching the start up of the ballast in that explosion proof fitting I have as the tubes fade in Cool
Slyspark   [13 Jun, 2024 at 08:42 PM]
Ha, SRS is my favorite gear set for that very reason. Have a fair bit of it in use here too. Usually a lot harder to find, as mostly went out of production a long time ago and got replaced in favour of T8 'evergy-saving' tubes and circuits.

Yes that fitting I have was my first proper starterless ballasted fitting, everything else I have is regular switchstart which is always nice but the other types give a bit of variety!

SRS/QS start up is what I dream to have, the fade in - a nice change from the usual blink start of switchstart - the SRS/QS fade in start up gives it a premium feel

I have the 2ft model which is switch start. One of the classrooms at my primary school had 8ft with prismatic diffusers and early electronic starter modules that made a rattling buzz when starting. Pretty rare. They were installed 1979.

@RobTDCI: I've seen the 2ft version at some bar place that was in the building that my cousin's flat was part of, this was when I was 12 years old - my cousin moved out of that flat long time ago. And the 8ft version is something I'd dream to have. Isn't the starter you described basically a Thorn Vivatronic type?
