Tubes like this tend to perform a bit better in a fitting with a diffuser, as it helps to keep the heat in.

@Oliver: Yeah these are good for diffused/enclosed fixtures such as wetherpacks
|

They do get over this when in regular service though, used daily they start normally and only seem to do this when particularly cold
|
