Mercury starved 8ft Well this is rare to see nowadays and especially when tube is mercury starved. What interests me is that it was glowing with a white colour similar to Krypton or Helium whereas normally it be the colour of Argon. Also its cool to see the orange glow of the electrode filament

It's got the wrong lampholders, with those turn buckles on cover plate, they should be oval ones. Interesting......

One of these just like this in my local greasy spoons. Even when they go dim they are quite bright.

I told them as they refurbished if they were gonna put in new lighting. They told me they loved fluorescents and hated the new LED lighing and now i'm never out of there!

They listened to you!! How lovely I wish I had the courage to tell that local fruit shop thats not far from me to do the same but I was flaming too late (slightly as there is one 8 footer)

Shops with a scooby about lighting are rarer than rocking horse shite! Was shocked when I found out they were keeping the fittings.
