Nice find! I've never seen much in the way of daylight CFL here tbh, probably not a bad thing as they'd no doubt be used inappropriately and look hideous, but they are quite nice for a bit of variety along with 840's, and where 827 is a bit too yellow

I have to agree that daylight CFLS look hideous in most applications - including my bedroom but at the same time serve purpose where 827 is too yellow What would be more ideal would be colour 835 CFLs now that would be the sweet balance. Same goes for 840

Yeah 835 CFL's would be a good option for those above 20W where 827 can get a bit too yellow, even 830 would have been nice to see in 20W+ for that matter

Spot on and back to that CFL, the Essential range of Philips CFLS are basically the premium version of the Genies
|

|||
Did the essential come out after the Genie? I never saw much of them until more recently when the Genie started to disappear.

Most likely that is the case - the Essential range came out shortly after the Genie was released and they both consisted until the Genie got discontinued. Also some Essential CFLs have got the V shaped bends - I got a couple in Daylight and one in Warm White
