Nice, they looked a little more modern and slimmed down with this design, I think it came about in the late 2000's.

Think it was done in effort to make it easier to fit into tight fixtures where earlier CFLS were a struggle and sometimes no chance of them fitting in Smile yes I'd say it is to the late 2000s when OSRAM started the Germany - China migration of manufacturing CFLs
