Laptop CCFL Inverter and Status. Inverter module from an IBM T60 laptop. I changed the LCD in this old laptop for something much higher resolution as XGA (1024x768) just really can't cut it today! That did mean however that I had to also change the inverter board as the new screen requires a higher drive current. What I find interesting about this little unit is that it does double duty, it's the HV inverter for the display's CCFL backlight but it also houses the various status LED's for the laptop for both the front of the lid but also on the rear of the lid too. There are 16 SMT LED's on this little board lol. The main connection to the flexible video cable is on the left and the power out to the CCFL backlight it on the right. This is the old module and is a composite shot of both the front and back of the board.

I have a T60 15" (the bigger version) that i got with a smashed screen. I upgraded it to 1600x1200 IPS panel from Ebay - That was a few years ago

I wanted a UXGA display but they are silly expensive on ebay at this point in time. I settled for an SXGA+ which is still a massive step up from the standard XGA screen, not just in terms of resolution but the colour, brightness, clarity and viewing angles are all vastly superior.

It is indeed - However, for basic laptop needs the XGA is perfectly fine, just zoom everything down and choose some tiny font size for the system
