the 35/55w ones came from fife around 10 years ago, since then i have bought the others, 66w being the latest and the last one. they seem reliable and are not potted like most hid electronic, so a repair could be possible if needed, that said if i remember there are surface mount parts inside. there was never a 131/180 or 18w version made, i don't know why

Interesting line up! Was one ever made for 135W? As the mag ballasts do seem quite lossy for SOX these would up the efficiency a lot. I have a good few 55 and 35W ballasts but no other sizes.

nope 135 was another wattage that was not made, forgot to mention that

Might be able to run a 135w off a 91w Ballast?

HF efficiency advantage may be not so great with the higher power lamps. Maybe with SOX there is no possibility to improve the lamp efficacy with HF like with Fluorescent either due to it running too cold if driven at lower power ?

I’d love to get this on a scope to see if it’s driving them with a sine wave like a HF fluro ballast or square wave like electronic HID ballasts.

i have a scope, but don't think i have a x10 probe

no sox/sox-e are different, you can getaway with 91w on 135w gear em, but the 135w lamp will draw to much power from the ballast and overload it. 0.62A vs 0.9A the current is lower in this case so the voltage will be higher and hence power

You can make a voltage divider. Either way, there is also the measurement Earth issue to take care of

I have a 20meg HV differential probe for playing about with stuff on the mains.
