I have 2 of these and in the same boat looking for a tall enough glass to fit over them to light them yes the give a lot of UVC which can damage your eyes and skin, and you can smell the ozone from them when lit,

It sounds so funny... You really so afraid UV radiation from these lamps? I guess the piece of window glass is enough to protect your eyes from the evil UV

Yes any glass will block the UV radiation, (Soda Lime or Borosilicate Glass) the only thing which will allow UV to pass though is Quartz,
