(Philips-made) Thorn Kolor-Plus 160w SBMV/MBTF lamp Someone recently listed a few of these on Ebay for a bargain price, so it would have been rude not to have purchased one, lol! Interestingly, this lamp was made for Thorn by Philips. In the early 1990s, they appear to have outsourced quite a lot of their mercury lamp production to both Philips and Sylvania.

Not a bad lamp to have in anyone's collection really. Not seen a Philips made Thorn like this before, but, wasn't uncommon for many of the larger companies to source from the others - I've seen plenty of Thorn made Philips T8 and T12 tubes before.

True, you don't see many about! I'm sure I've got some genuine Thorn ones kicking about somewhere too, will have to dig them out again...!
