Early 1990's "Coronet" 15w outdoor festoon lights
I'd been trying to get a set of these for some years now as they are quite sought after and usually sell for about 30 - 60 quid! I found these on Ebay for just a tenner and surprisingly I wasn't outbid. The string was a bit neglected and dirty when it arrived, but having cleaned it up and fitted a plug, surprisingly most of the lamps still worked (they take 15w E14 pygmy lamps). Despite a few rusty screws and discoloured lantern covers, I plan to use it this year.

Had a neighbour (now long dead) who had a set of these that I used to be asked to put up every year. I wonder what happened to them when house was cleared - probably just got binned I guess...

Very popular in the 80s for outdoor Christmas lighting. Also, outdoor Christmas lighting at domestic properties was pretty unusual at this time, perhaps due to the extra cost and limited range of waterproof sets available. They were almost always these or GLS coloured Festoon sets.
